There's a whole world of reptile enthusiasts out there - societies, clubs, sellers of food, suppliers
of hardware, breeders of live animals, reptile shops, magazines and more.
It's taken me years of effort to find hundreds of these contacts and test out dozens of them to find my own "hotlist"
of suppliers that I use.
Finding out all the contact details I have would take you just as long.
You'd have to scour the Internet, and use any contact as a source for others.
You managed to find a reptile magazine? Great, then investigate the adverts at the back.
Spend weeks or months on the Internet. And then you'd still miss tons of great suppliers because they either don't have a website
or don't appear in the search engines.
Every time you visit a reptile shop or look in the yellow pages you should be looking for more until you have a list that will enable you to find virtually
anything you need or want, at a good price.
Because once you've found a load of addresses you still don't know who the good contacts are and who will waste your time,
charge you over the odds and take weeks to send your order out, sell you substandard stock or simply take your money and run.
It's a long (and expensive) job with no quick route.
Until now.
I have folders packed with contact details for hundreds of reptile-related resources, and even that isn't exhaustive.
New contacts are coming onto the scene every month whilst others go out of business, or retire, or change hands.
AboutSnakes has now solved this problem by creating the first dynamic database of snake-related
contacts.
There are already over a hundred contacts in the database and it's being added to all the time.
More importantly, old addresses are being removed, and community members are positively encouraged to rate and review
the contacts in the database to give you and others like you a fair, impartial impression of who you might like to deal with.
And so you too are invited to use the database to find contacts that will be of use to you for years to come. You're also invited
to add any contacts you know of that aren't there and review those that you *have* used to help others in the community.
The address book is only available to community members, so to make full use of this resource please
join the community today.
